Macho Platano Banderillas

    ▪︎2 to 3 ripe macho plantains (very ripe)
    ▪︎Wheat flour
    ▪︎2 beaten eggs
    ▪︎Breadcrumbs
    ▪︎Oil for frying


It is a Cuban recipe of great simplicity and surprisingly good results. A naturally sweet bite the whole family will enjoy.

Very ripe bananas could be soaked in liquor or wine in advance, just to intensify their flavor and make these bananas even more interesting.

Peel and cut the ripe bananas into 2 or 3 similar pieces. Maybe soak the bananas in rum or your favorite liquor for an hour.

Cover with flour, then dip in beaten egg and finally spread with breadcrumbs.

Heat the oil and fry the banana portions until golden brown on all sides.
Remove the bananas from the heat and drain on paper.

Insert a small bamboo stick or toothpick into each piece and... that's it, to serve with a little honey, or this carrot and ginger jam.

This dish can be a starter or garnish to any main dish in Cuban cuisine.
