If you're going to walk into town near Parque Josone, take a detour towards the beach to stop at Bar Dos Mares (associated with the hotel of the same name). Order your drink and go drink it on the beach. A little moment of pure delight!

In 2015, during our first trip, visiting Havana was a “must”. Although for a first experience this excursion gave us a general overview, we were a little disappointed because we spent 45 minutes in a cemetery and lacked time in Old Havana. The restaurant at lunchtime was just OK and we often had to wait for people who didn't respect the times. Next time, it will be by taxi with a private guide, that's for sure!

This oldest tourist attraction in Cuba, according to local propaganda, is 5 km southeast of Matanzas and is 300,000 years old. There are 2500m of caves. A Bellamar Cave tour lasts 45 minutes and there is one almost every hour from 9:30am. The caves a vast stalactite of 12 m and an underground watercourse; the cave walls sparkle eerily with crystal formations. Well-maintained and well-lit trails allow children to immerse themselves in the geology.

A great way to experience the rhythm of Cuban daily life! In Varadero, the market is Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon and in Santa Marta, Sunday from 9 a.m. to noon

If you are in Varadero on December 31st, don't stay in your hotel to celebrate the New Year! Be on Primera Avenida and stroll between Calle 62 and Calle 50. You will see Cubans celebrating, kissing and... dancing! A little after midnight, near Calle 52, you can watch the conga, this festive procession in which Cubans and an increasing number of tourists participate.

The interior is tiny. You have to go there in the evening and enjoy the outdoor terrace. The shows take place around 9 p.m. (retro rock) but you can hear Beatles music before then. It's one of the "must sees" in Varadero, at least for those who like retro rock!
