    2 Kg of ripe guava
    1/2 Kg of white sugar
    The water
    1 stick of cinnamon

One of the most popular desserts of Cuban cuisine are the delicious guava shells, which, in addition to enjoying an exquisite flavor, are really easy to prepare. Next we will show how this simple but very tasty dessert can be prepared.

Before starting the recipe, it is important to remember the benefits of guava, a very abundant fruit in Cuba whose consumption is quite beneficial because it is rich in vitamin C and has nutritional powers, since its pulp has the property of reduce the LDL levels in the body.

Wash the guavas well and peel each one, trying to keep the skin without damaging the fruit mass (shell), then cut each in half and remove the seeds and internal pulp with a teaspoon. Use the pulp later to make a refreshing juice.
Clean each shell well and put them in a saucepan in which you must cover them with water and leave them over medium heat until it begins to boil.
Add the sugar and cinnamon and continue cooking with the same heat intensity.
When the shells have softened and the syrup is at the desired point, remove from the heat.
Accompany the dessert with a touch of cream cheese or another type of lightly salted cheese
Note: Depending on the type of guava, the color of the syrup may vary, because if the guava is red, the shell is dark red, but if the guava is white, the color of the dessert will be yellowish.
