Platanos en tentación or platanos

    Ingredients :
    4 ripe bananas
4 tablespoons of white sugar or brown sugar
4 tablespoons of cooking wine or vinegar
    1 to 2 cinnamon sticks
    2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
    1 to 2 cloves
2 to 3 tablespoons of butter or oil

These are caramelized ripe plantains.
The ripe banana is the most consumed fruit in Cuban cuisine. This is a different way to enjoy it.

preparation :
Peel the bananas and place them in a flat pan and make small diagonal cuts on both sides.
Add the nails, the cinnamon pieces and sprinkle them with ground cinnamon too.
Cover the bananas with the sugar, the cooking wine and the butter in pieces.
Simmer for an hour or until the bananas are cooked and the syrup is melted and gently caramelized. You can add small pieces of pineapple, orange or lemon peel, as well as their juice to enrich the dish.
I recommend that you add a few drops of rum or other liqueurs towards the end of cooking to flambé and thus further flavor this preparation which is often served as a garnish.
It melts in your mouth.
Have a good start to the week everyone and have a good trip to those who are going to Cuba. Welcome.
